Alternative Moons

De maan – altijd een bron van inspiratie en verbeelding in de geschiedenis van de mensheid. Blader door dit fotoboek en vertrek op een fantasierijke reis door een fictieve ruimte. Nadine (* 1976, DE) komt uit verschillende achtergronden en brak haar studie kunstgeschiedenis af om ontwerper te worden. In 2013 stichtte zij haar eigen webdesign bedrijf op, waar zij momenteel als art director werkt. Robert (* 1969, DE) studeerde fotografie en visuele communicatie aan de universiteit van Wuppertal, studeerde aan de Hochschule der Künste Berlin en aan de USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles. Zijn werk is internationaal tentoongesteld in de VS, Rusland, Europa en China. Hij kreeg tevens twee subsidies (2012 + 2015) voor resedenties in Moskou en Chongqing van de stad Düsseldorf. In 2017 wonnen Nadine en Robert in Wenen de Vienna Photo Book Award met hun debuutboek Alternative Moons. Hun samenwerking is gebaseerd op de perceptie van visuele verschijnselen die voortkomen uit dagelijkse situaties, waardoor een atmosfeer van ambivalentie wordt gecreëerd, terwijl de geheimen van het zichtbare worden uitgedaagd. -- The moon – always source of inspiration and imagination throughout history of wo*mankind. Setting off on the imaginative journey through fictitious space by browsing the pages of the photo book, the viewer is confronted with a surprising fact on the very last page – turning the reception of the whole book upside down. Coming from different backgrounds, Nadine (*1976) quit her art history studies to become a designer. In 2013 she co-founded her own web design company, where she currently works as an art director. Robert (*1969) holds a diploma in Photography/Visual Communication from the University of Wuppertal and studied at Hochschule der Künste Berlin as well as at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Los Angeles. His work has been exhibited internationally in the USA, Russia, Europe and China. He also received two grants (2012 + 2015) for artist residencies in Moskau and Chongqing from the city of Düsseldorf. Their collaboration is based on the perception of visual phenomenons emerging from everyday situations, creating an atmosphere of ambivalence while challenging the secrets of the visible.
